I don’t know about you, but the girls in this office are buzzing, actually they’re obsessed, with all things Fall. And I get it! I mean, the days are getting shorter, the air ‘should be’ getting crisper, and everything Pumpkin is hitting the shops. It’s time for cozy leggings and crock pots. Fall is all about friends, family and comfort food! I love it too. So, it goes without saying that this is the perfect week to give you the scoop on All Things Fall in Old Towne Orange. If you’re ready to dive like we are, here’s what we’ve come up with, enjoy!
‘Tis the season to pull out those Halloween decorations and deck out your digs. One of the first things I stumbled upon were these spooky signs, frames, pens and SO much more at Dragonfly Shops and Gardens. They have a great display set up right inside their doors if case you’re looking for just the perfect thing to add to your collection. Happy Haunting! -Kelly
Sweet tooth anyone? When it comes to seasonal food, my thoughts are that Bruxie pretty much hits it every time and this season is no exception. If you are craving something pumpkin in your belly then let this be your go-to because they’ve put together 2 specials that will blow your mind.
- Pumpkin Spice Shake – Spiced Pumpkin blended with Wisconsin Frozen Custard topped with Whipped Cream and Cinnamon
- Pumpkin Cheesecake – Spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake Filling, Candied Pecans & Ginger Snap Cookie Crumble
Speaking of a sweet tooth, the “Perfect Pumpkin” cupcakes at The Perfect Circle Cupcakery are not to be missed. For just $3.00, you can have a sweet Fall treat that fits in the palm of your hand, and it doesn’t get much better than that.
On October 12 from 10 – 2, mark your calendars for a fun pumpkin patch at Meads Green Door Cafe, they’ll have face painting for the kids and fun activities, not to mention perfectly sized $10 carving pumpkins you can take home! Wearing a costume will earn you 10% off!
If you’re looking for Halloween or Fall decor to spice up your home with the changing of the seasons, you MUST pay Vintiques Home Decor and The Potting Shed a visit. In one trip you could have your home pretty well-prepared for Fall! At Vintiques, we found some pretty cool decorations – from large wood palette pumpkins to Edgar Allen Poe inspired signage – and The Potting Shed is overflowing with actual pumpkins, so you can take the kids with you on this shopping spree!
If you’re not looking forward to the crowds of Target or the mall digging through racks and racks of Halloween costumes, you might want to consider stopping by Tiddlywinks first. They have a small selection of costumes ranging from $22-$45 that might just be the perfect fit for a little princess or tiny fireman.
Let me just say that there’s no better (or tastier) way to start the morning than with a pumpkin bagel from Bagel Me. You can smear that baby with pumpkin cream cheese (seriously, just try it) or you can get it cinnamon-sugar toasted. Both ways are divine. The pumpkin cream cheese is very “Fall” while the cinnamon sugar is just a classic bagel topping that you can’t go wrong with. It’s $3.25 for one of these special bagels with cream cheese.
On the hunt for all things Fall, Renee wandered the art galleries of Old Towne Orange. Here’s what she found! First stop: Schroeder Studio Gallery. They are displaying gorgeous golden stemmed glass pumpkins and autumn leaves. This is the last year the artists will be creating these unique glassworks, so be sure to make this on stop on your fall tour. Next I popped into the Copperwood Artware LLC where they have some GOURD-geous artwork on display. The gourds are adorned with stone, shells and feathers. Each is a unique and beautiful piece of art.
And – you can imagine my delight and surprise when on my tour – I passed by A la Minute and what did I find? Pumpkin ice cream topped with a candied almond & pecan crumble!! I was compelled, in the interest of research, to try this new an seasonal flavor. You will not be disappointed! Fall is everywhere in Old Towne!
This season is ALL about baking, and I couldn’t be more excited! If you’re going to serve some tasty Fall treats, EIKON Homes has some festive items to match the autumn spirit! We fell in love with these adorable spider plates and decided to use them as we snacked on candy corn at the office this afternoon. I cannot wait to serve up some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies on these later this month! YUM!
P.S. EIKON Homes also has AMAZING candles that makes the entire house smell like Fall. The Tobacco & Patchouli by Paddywax is our fave!
