Creative Ways to Celebrate Mom

If you’d told us 2020 would be like this in December 2019, we would have laughed and asked you what movie you were referring to. Then March came and suddenly our lives changed. Home became the office, the school, and the playground. Normal routines shifted, and somehow we adjusted. No, that’s not true. We know how we adjusted…our moms led the way. Moms have been there to help kids transition to homeschooling while they themselves may have been working full time. For their adult kids, they helped soothe our anxiety with the same assurances they’ve given us all our lives, “it’s going to be okay.” Personally, we think Mom should get the biggest award of gratitude and love this Mother’s Day. A trip to Hawaii maybe…hmmm, maybe next year!

This year though, the least we can do is surprise mom with a day that’s all about her. Here are some of our favorite ideas to make this Mother’s Day one she won’t forget!

Say “Thanks Mom!” with Flowers

The Dizzy Daisy storefront may be closed, but they are still taking pre-orders for Mother’s Day. Surprise Mom with a beautiful bouquet via “no contact” delivery or curbside pick-up. Visit their website or call (714) 289-1123 to place your order.

Treat Mom to a Fancy Brunch at Home

The Farmhouse at Rogers Garden is offering a Sunday Brunch to-go menu featuring a frittata with ham and gruyere, or french toast with berries and vanilla cream. Orders must be placed by noon on Saturday, and pick up starts at 10 A.M. on Sunday. Curbside cocktail orders are also available, so you can pair brunch with a refreshing mimosa. Brunch orders can be placed online or via phone at (949) 640-1415.

You can also pick up a fabulous breakfast with Bloody Mary’s to go at Woody’s Diner, right here in Old Towne Orange. However, if you want to make your own, we got their famous recipe just for you.

Sweeten Her Day with Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Entice her sweet tooth with this recipe for copycat Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. The best part? They smell as good as they taste! You can also drop these off on her porch for a sugary surprise.

Give the Gift of Reading

Pamper Mom with a DIY Spa Basket
