Well, it took me all of 4 days to finally make it over to Bruxie, the new hot spot in town. I was actually glad I’d waited because with 2 youngsters in tow, waiting a super long time for dinner to be served is just not fun. I have to say that there is some serious buzz going on out there about Bruxie and this crazy idea of waffle sandwiches. Most of the buzz good, some of the buzz not-so-great.
Here’s my take.
We arrived about 5:45 and got lucky by finding a parking spot right out front (my husband has parking Karma). We waited in line about 10 minutes to order and we ordered the Chicken and Waffle, the Hamburger and the Nutella and Banana Waffle, as well as some Waffle Fries.
The owner came by and said hello while we were waiting and told us that we’d ordered the 3 most popular items on their menu. First, the Chicken and Waffle came out (which was mine) and it looked delicious. I took a bite and discovered that it WAS! The chicken is fried and has a honey sauce on it, there is also coleslaw and mayo in there. About 3 minutes later, the burger came out (which was the husband’s) and it also looked yummy. I took a bite of it and it was also very good, the husband thought it was delish! I’d say about 5 minutes after that, the Nutella and banana came out (for the kids) and of course, how can you go wrong with that combo, it was out-of-this-world.
After we were all done, our fries came out and we had to ask for them. The fries were amazing, but you can see where I’m going…the organization on the meal delivery needs a little work. That being said, I’m thinking that they are a bit more of a success than even they were prepared for and I’ll give them a couple of weeks to get straightened out, I’m sure by then they’ll be running like a well-oiled machine. The other thing I must pass along is that you can’t wait to eat your food. It’s like In-N-Out, you’ve got to eat it right away otherwise the waffle gets soggy.
All in all, I will be back to Bruxie again and again. The food is great (and delightfully different), the price is right and you can’t beat the Old Towne Orange location.

My hubby has parking karma as well. Isn’t it nice?
Oh, and we’re hoping to hit up Bruxie next week. Is there reasonable indoor seating?
Totally agree with your review. Lots of kinks to be worked out — running out of batter several times a day, forgetting parts of the order, 30 min. wait after ordering, etc. Let’s hope they do it soon. But the food was amazing!
@Brekkie_fan, there is no indoor seating, just tables outside, most are under a covering so would be shaded during the day and lit at night. It’s a walk up kind of place, you don’t go inside at all so it’s super casual and easy.
