I Heart just got a new Intern! Let’s meet Marshall!
Hello everyone! My name is Marshall and I have been the new I Heart Old Towne Orange intern for about the past month (since the avocado toast blog)! This year, I am a sophomore at Chapman University studying Public Relations and Advertising within the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
When I’m not in class, I am a member of the National Student Advertising Competition in the Media department, I am a Resident Advisor for first-year Dodge College of Film and Media Arts students, and I am a member of the 2017 International Championship of Collegiate A capella Quarterfinal Championship group, the ChapTones, where I sing tenor. Here is a music video that my a capella group recently uploaded to our YouTube Channel.
I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona and just moved to sunny Southern California in the fall of 2016 for school. My I Heart story starts in the summer before my freshman year, before I moved 350 miles away from home and off to college. I was perusing Instagram one evening when I came across the I Heart Old Towne Orange Instagram page. Because I was moving to Orange, I immediately followed the vibrant and inspiring page. I loved how I Heart gave me a look into what my new life would look like in Orange. It wasn’t hard to persuade my mom to follow the page too, so she could get a sense of my new life, even from back home in Phoenix.
When I moved to Orange, I finally got to see with my own eyes what I had been seeing on Instagram for over 2 months. Now, a year and a half later, as the I Heart intern, I am the one POSTING on the pages. This has been such a dream come true for me and I am so excited to have received the opportunity to share Old Towne with all of you, a city that will forever be my “college town.”
Keep reading the blog, following our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages, and follow my personal Instagram account! Don’t worry – I post a lot in Orange too!
Have an amazing weekend in Old Towne or wherever you may be! See you online.
