The best description I’ve seen of the quarantine goes like this: it’s like the week between Christmas and New Year’s where time is a concept and your diet doesn’t matter. And while all of us at I Heart are huge advocates for pizza and binge-watching marathons, we shouldn’t let COVID-19 get in the way of our 2020 fitness goals. Plus, a little fitness is good for your mind as well as your body!
The good news is that so many local businesses aren’t letting social distancing get in the way of a good workout. Wake up and get your sweat on! Hit the Mark Fitness launched HTMF Live Zoom workouts Monday-Saturday. Designed to help you keep off your quarantine 15, these 1-hour classes will whip you into shape! In addition to their 5 minutes of PE on Monday-Friday (around 3:00 p.m. on Instagram), Pilates Encore is also offering private online classes! This is a great chance to get some one-on-one time and focus on your targeted areas. DM them @PilatesEncore for more information and to schedule your class! Looking to add some meditative stretches to your workout? SunSpark Yoga is offering FREE classes through Instagram and Facebook Live! They are fantastic and you can choose from a variety of classes, from all levels of flow and yoga to sound meditation. Take a moment of your day to relax, stretch, strengthen your core, and recenter your mind. If you are able to give, they are accepting donations! Try something new with your workout regime! The Pa-Kua School is offering online classes in Martial Arts, Tai-Chi, yoga, acrobatics, and more. We tested out the Tai-Chi class ourselves and it was such a great experience. We highly recommend you take some time to slow down your mind and focus on your breathing with this ancient art consisting of slow movements designed to build strength and mobility. You’ll learn a new skill and get a workout. It’s a win-win! You can also sign up for classes via their website, and they offer a free week pass.
