Hello everyone! Happy Thursday and welcome to May in Old Towne Orange! As you may know by now, we are on a mission to save you time in Old Towne Orange. Two weeks ago, we brought you the ultimate Old Towne Orange Parking Guide. We know that parking can make or break whether you will get in and out of OTO during a lunch hour, so finding parking quickly is crucial. Last week, we brought you quick drinks to get in Old Towne Orange! From beer, wine, coffee, and boba tea lovers, there is a place for you!
This week, we are talking all about QUICK BITES! Old Towne Orange has some of the best restaurants around, some of them more casual and some of them more formal. However, this week we are dedicating the blog to those quick bites! Whether you need to grab a snack before class, on your lunch break, or before picking the kids up from practice, these establishments are your next stop for a quick meal in OTO!
Mead’s Green Door Cafe – What can we say? We love Meads! We recently posted a blog about Meads (which you can ready here) and have never found something on the menu we have not totally enjoyed. Mead’s has quick service and yummy food. This week, we needed to grab a quick bite between work and class and ran into Mead’s with 25 minutes until to spare. We ordered the nachos – vegan style – which come with guacamole, potatoes, “chicken,” and pico de gallo. Not only do I have a new favorite snack – but I got to class 5 minutes early! Thanks, Mead’s!
Thai Towne Eatery Take-Out – Although Thai Towne is a sit-down restaurant, Thai Towne takes take-out orders, which can be ready for pick up on your lunch break. We ordered the eggplant dish with tofu at Thai Towne and absolutely loved it. This dish comes with the perfect mound of rice you have ever seen – and pairs so well with the eggplant sauce. And of course, the Thai Tea is a must-have. Visit Thai Towne this weekend!
Starbucks – Of course, we had to mention Starbucks! Starbucks is like our reliable friend. She is always there with comfort food, helping us get ready for the day, and is totally dependable. Just today, we noticed that Starbucks has returned with one of their signature items: the avocado spread! This is a seasonal item that came just in time for summer. If you remember all the way back to September, my first blog as the intern was the Old Towne Orange Avocado Toast Guide and we included Starbucks in our selection. What we do is order a multigrain bagel and avocado spread from Starbucks to make a cheap, quick and easy avocado toast! Perfect for on-the-go and breakfast!
Bagel Me – For more bagels, Bagel Me has a huge menu. Bagel Me offers burgers, salads, bagel sandwiches, onion rings, garlic knots, pizza, pasta and more. This menu is sure to entice your appetite and be a quick stop on your OTO food adventure! And for an added bonus, Bagel Me is sponsored by Doordash and can be delivered directly to you. Winding down the school year is a very busy time – and getting a quick bite is essential to keep you working hard throughout the day!
Byblos Cafe – Byblos Cafe is one of my personal favorite spots on OTO. They have an affordable menu and delicious Mediterranean food. Check out our full review of Byblos Cafe here and visit them this weekend! I remember only waiting 5 minutes before my meal was prepared at Byblos, and we cannot wait to go back! Note: Byblos is currently under renovation and will reopen later this month!
Are you hungry now? We hope that this guide inspires you to try somewhere new on your next OTO outing. Whether you have 30 minutes or all day, these are the perfect stops to satisfy your hunger. Thank you for reading everyone! Have a great weekend and we will see you in Old Towne.
