I finally had the opportunity to have dinner at Francoli Gourmet. I’d heard a lot of hype, both good and bad, but being someone who loves food, and loves trying new places, I wanted to make up my own mind. I had never been to Francoli at it’s Newport location, so this would be my first experience with them. While my expectations were high, I’d actually heard quite a few negative comments about the service (though none really about the food), so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
“Well, we finally made it to Francoli’s Resturant at it’s new location in Orange. We went on a Monday evening and it was already getting crowded at 6pm. They don’t take reservations and they do have limited seating, but I came by about 30 minutes before we were meeting our friends and they were kind enough to reserve a table for 6 for me. We definitely got the best table…”
FFor those of you who know Old Towne Orange, you know that it’s been missing something. And that thing is a good pub with good food. Now, I know there’s a bar at Citrus City, as well as Gabby’s, and there’s always good ole’ O’Hara’s and The District Lounge, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about a bar where you can hang out and watch a game, or sit at a table and order some great food. Well, that place has arrived, and it’s called Haven Gastropub.
I am a wife and mother. I also have a career in marketing, advertising and social media. And, I live 2 blocks from the border of Old Towne Orange. A border (yes, a distinct border!) which I cross as often as I possibly can. I’ve lived here for 7 years, but it only took me a day to fall in love with The Circle and all it had to offer. I’ve watched Old Towne Orange go through quite a little renaissance over, say, the past 5 years. Whatever the City’s been doing to bring in businesses that resonate with a younger crowd, well, it’s been working.
