Today, May 6, at 3pm, Chapman University invites all of you out to celebrate their 150th birthday! They are having a Campus Open House with festival booths, children’s activities, free performances, a Campus Art Walk and more. At 3:30 pm, pop into a free class by one of six top professors, or continue to enjoy the free festivities on the Piazza (which will include a display of live Galapagos tortoises and sea slugs, musical instruments, cartoon drawing by the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity and more. After brief remarks by President Jim Doti and Mayor Cavecche at 7:30 pm, a rollicking concert by The Alley Cats will lead into a finale fireworks display! Plus – free hot dogs, chips, lemonade — and a giant birthday cake in the shape of Memorial Hall. Free parking in the Chapman parking structures.
