You’ve heard the rumors and seen the signs, Provisions Market is opening up any day now in Old Towne Orange. I’ve had the extra lucky privilege of visiting this fantastic new Market a couple of times in the last couple of weeks and I am excited for them to open!! Provisions is the latest adventure from Haven Collective, who’s first restaurant is our own Haven Gastropub. Haven Collective was so successful with Haven Gastropub that they have subsequently opened Taco Asylum at The Camp in Costa Mesa and Haven Gastropub +Brewery in Old Pasadena. Provisions marks their 4th adventure in cuisine and brew, and this one’s for the locals!
Provisions Market is all about bringing, you guessed it, provisions to us on a grab and go kind of basis. They’ll be offering up several micro and craft brews, several of which they brew themselves, in addition to a selection of wines and coffee (Portola Coffee Lab will be opening later on in Provisions Market). In addition to the drink, they’ll have lots of yummy cheeses, cured meats, pickled products, house made salads, sandwiches, breads and more treats…like these amazing jalapeno pickled deviled eggs…whoa talk about a taste sensation!
I had the chance to talk with Chef Greg Daniels, as well as the 2 other partners, Wil Dee and Ace Patel, and their concept for Provisions is all about community, which is what I’m all about too! They created Provisions as a place for us locals to pick up a marinated steak to take home for the grill, as well as a loaf of bread, appetizers and other side dishes to make up a complete meal. However, they’ve also transformed the interior of what used to be The Bruery Provisions to accommodate for more seating inside and plan to add seating outside along the sidewalk. They’re also working on changing the liquor license so we can enjoy a beer or glass of wine with in house dining, as opposed to the existing license as a tasting room/bar.
Overall, it’s a very exciting concept and one not currently offered in Old Towne Orange. I know I’ll be popping by often for my provisions. Here’s some photos of what you have to look forward to.
Yummy, yummy, delicious cheeses…
Crusty bread and brew…
Tasty sandwiches…this one vegetarian (the sandwich, not the man)!
Something for the sweetie pie in you…these toffee’s are amazing, and I learned they’re getting some special chocolate too!
And as you can see, we are excited…that’s my business partner and brother, Ryan (oh and me in case you haven’t seen me before)…
For those of you as excited as I am about Provisions Market opening, be sure to follow them on Facebook HERE. I don’t have an exact date for opening, but it’s going to be in the next few days!!
