Always one to try out a new restaurant in town, I haven’t had the chance to dine at Francoli’s just yet. So, I asked my mom to write up a review on her experience a couple of weeks ago. She went to celebrate her 25th anniversary with my step-dad and this is what she had to say…
“Well, we finally made it to Francoli’s Resturant at it’s new location in Orange. We went on a Monday evening and it was already getting crowded at 6pm. They don’t take reservations and they do have limited seating, but I came by about 30 minutes before we were meeting our friends and they were kind enough to reserve a table for 6 for me. We definitely got the best table inside the resturant, right in the window which is a little alcove. The food was very good, not great but very good! All three men got the Lasagna (typical), one of their specialties, and the three of us women each got something different. One person ordered the Cioppino, another one ordered the Fettucini Alfredo with chicken and I ordered another one of their specialties, which is a thinly sliced steak on a bed of argula with mashed potatoes and veggies, it was a little dry but it had great flavor. I might ask for it to be cooked a little rarer next time, and yes, I would order it again. The service was a little slow, but maybe they are trying to give you a European dining experience and they don’t want to rush you, and I would have loved to have another cup of coffee but they didn’t come around again to see if we wanted anything more. The chocolate mousse dessert was to-die-for! That alone would be worth the trip. They also have a very friendly bartender named Jaime… if you want to stop at the bar for a drink, he will definitely keep you entertained. All in all I would give the experience 3+ stars and I’d go there again for sure, especially to dine outside once it gets a little warmer.”
