A guide to Old Towne Orange and Orange, CA
THE ORANGE COMMUNITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY offers visitors a peek into Old Towne’s history with its popular Historical Walking Tours of the Plaza District and surrounding areas of Old Towne Orange. Volunteer Docents share the story of Orange’s founding and the significance of some of its early residences, businesses, development, and downtown buildings.
The Walking Tour begins at the Historic Water Fountain located near the main entry to the Orange Library & History Center, located at 407 E. Chapman Ave, Orange, CA 92866 (Please do not contact the library). Free public parking is available at the library. The tour lasts approximately 90 – 120 minutes.
A donation of $10 per person will be charged when selecting the date and time above. This donation goes to support the society’s historical projects and speaker programs, the preservation of the bicentennial markers, the preservation of historical photographs, the preservation of local historical signage, the ongoing support for our local history archives, and other historical activities throughout the community of Orange.
Please arrive on time to the tour and we recommend wearing good walking shoes and sunglasses. Cameras are always welcome and you may want to bring a small bottle of water. Please email us at [email protected] if you should have any questions.
