I don’t know how many of you attended the inaugural OC Foodie Fest last year, but what I do know is that there were thousands of you. It’s going to be the same feasting, festing, fun this year, only with a few minor modifications. I had the chance to sit down and find out from the man behind the Foodie Fest, James Foxall, just how he planned to kick it up a notch this year. Here’s the scoop!

So first thing’s first, this year’s event takes place at Angel Stadium on August 27th and it’s a full day affair. In addition to the main attraction – FOOD – there will be tons of entertainment this year. We’re talking 6 bands, 2 dedicated family fun areas with TONS of stuff to entertain the kids, a Budweiser beer garden, Angels Baseball Skill Camp, a Soco Certified Farmers Market, a car show, Boutiquing.com will be there, cooking and eating competitions, a Skyy Vodka VIP Lounge…and then 100 gourmet food trucks and local restaurants…phew!

General admission to this fabulous event is $12, early entry is available for $25 and the VIP Skyy Vodka Lounge is $75 (this one includes food, cocktails and excellent viewing of the stage). You should also know that it’s $8 to park at Angel Stadium, but if you’re local just ride your bikes or park nearby and walk over.

For more info on this event, check out their WEBSITE, find them on FACEBOOK or TWITTER.

HERE’S HOW TO WIN 2 VIP TICKETS TO THIS YEAR’S EVENT: WINNER WAS CHOSEN TODAY 8/25, THIS PROMO IS NOW CLOSED, THANKS EVERYBODY!

    Hi, Kelly.

Thanks for this contest. Any contest with grub, live music, and the Boutiquing girls is alright by me! Pick me to win and this native Orange girl will show OTO how foodie fests get done! Hollah!

I would LOVE a good foodie fest because what better way to enjoy life than to eat good food? I mean, you have to eat or you’ll die so it’s not like you’re doing something unnecessary, in fact you’re doing something which is one of the three necessary things for living: breathing, eating and drinking water. So why not eat good food since you have to? Anyways that’s the way I look at it.

If this year’s Foodie Fest is as good as last year’s Foodie Fest, I’d LOVE to attend. So much great food, shopping, bands and did I mention the food. I don’t think I ate for a week after it! Can’t wait to win the tickets to go again! :-)

  • Jenn

  • Debbie

I think i should win tickets because I faithfully suffered through last year’s Foodie Fest and yet strangely enough still want to attend this year, even though most of my foodie friends said no way! I love truck food and go to many of the local weekly events. But all the trucks in the sane place!!! Gastro Heaven!!

  • Heather

I love Foodie Fest because it gives me an opportunity to try new trucks & food all in one place. The fries, the ice cream sandwiches, the gourmet food … ahhhh

  • Eric

Best thing about Food Festivals? Discovering new delicious styles of food. I never knew bacon could go with so many different combinations. haha!

  • Bridget

Diversity of amazing flavors all drawn to one location. This is why I NEED a good OC Foodie Fest 2011! We’ve been chasing trucks for 18 months and bringing them to one location is GREEN to my gas tank!
2010 We got the VIP tickets and it was SO WORTH it because we beat the lines.

  • Kelly Fitzgerald

    Great food from locals!

  • http://www.missjilliandesigns.blogspot.com/ Jill

Um, let’s see…what’s not to like about a good foodie fest? Tons of yummy and creative food to try PLUS music PLUS shopping PLUS beer PLUS fun in the sun! Everything about it sounds like the best time ever!

  • Bat

Hi! I liked on FB and did the Twitter message, but alas I can’t subscribe to the e-mail list! Says the PHP is down. (http://cantonagencyinc.com/phpforms/index.php)

I’d LOVE to attend because the last “food” festival I went to was a huge bummer; 2010′s Grilled Cheese Festival in LA. They ran out of the freebies, the lines were over four hours long, and they didn’t have drinks available in the heat. :P Felt like it was a waste, and it made me sad. I’d love to see a fest done RIGHT and I like food trucks, so I’m excited!

  • Katy Y

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert….who wouldn’t want to eat them all at the Foodie Fest?

  • http://facebook.com/KuoRichard Richard Kuo

    Dear IheartOTO,

I am very excited to attend Foodie Fest for my best friend’s birthday; however, they aren’t 100% convinced on going to Foodie Fest versus just going to a restaurant! We have 8 people and any free tickets would definitely help the rest change their mind. Please help me in letting them know Foodie Fest will be a much better choice than a regular restaurant! Thanks!

  • Claudia

I live to eat, not eat to live!

    I’ll see YOU there!

ps. I <3 Old Towne Orange, too.

  • Amanda Duong

I would LOVE to win this pear of tickets, because I am just so bananas about meals on wheels. Nothing beets experiencing some of the best quality, interesting, and tasty food out there from such an unexpected place. My boyfriend says “we should eat to live, not live to eat”. I disagree, and I’d like to show him why. Please lettuce have the honor of attending this event! I am so berry eggcited, orange you all?! :)

  • anna barler

I would LOVE to go this event b/c I am trying to expose my children to what is in our neighborhood…

  • Ashley

I would love to win! I’m a huge foodie and even though I’ve lived in OT Orange for the last 4 years, I’ve yet to attend the festival. My sister is also coming in from out of town that weekend and since we both grew up watching our parents cook and bonding while baking, this would be absolutely perfect!

  • http://www.moonlightgraham.net Dave

I love food, and I like great food even more. I did not attend last year’s event and it left a giant hole in my life ever all year long. Food just did not taste the same, colors were not as vivid, music didn’t sound as sweet and I never had that extra spring in my step. So, I am hoping to make up for all that missing last year’s Foodie Fest cost me. I want to live again, Kelly. I want to LIVE!!!

  • http://ihartcupcakes.com Amber

Went last year (Buttermilk truck rocked my world), would love to go again this year! I frequent the food trucks in the Orange County area, but would LOVE to try some food trucks from the LA area! I LOVE OC Foodie Fest!!!

  • Blanca Perez

I would love a good foodie fest! Sound fun and delish! I LOVE FOOD!

  • Amanda Alvarado

I love Foodie Fest because they have a wide variety of food trucks to choose from as well as for dessert too. I attended the Foodie Fest last year and had a great time there and I also scored a free pair of Angels tickets which was a bonus. So please pick me to experience another great experience at Foodie Fest.

by the way did I mention I Heart Old Towne Orange

  • http://www.mrsregueiro.com Krystal R.

I would love to attend Foodie Fest because it’s like a GFT-candyland of gastronomical fun!! Who wouldn’t want to go to the ultimate foodie fest at the Angels Stadium?

  • Patricia

I need the pick-me-up that OC Foodie Fest would provide. Husband lost job – so going out or eating out has become a thing of the past and not near future – would LOVE to go out and be carefree and enjoy great food, entertainment and people watch. With husband would be relaxing, with kids and opportunity to expose them to new and different foods and activities. I love trying new foods and experimenting with taste, flavors, etc. The rest of my family needs the exposure….

  • Lisa Read

I would love to go to Foodie Fest because I love to try new kinds of food!

  • kelly

    LOL Dave!!!

  • carly

I would love to go to foodie fest because I’m obsessed with food trucks!! The foodie fest is also the same day as my high school reunion, which I can’t affod to go to and a food truck festival would be a great replacement!!

  • natalie

I would LOVE to take my 6yr old dd to the foodie fest as last year she was SUPER excited to go and especially visit the NomNom truck there. We parked the car, walked over and it was SOLD OUT! So sad! I’d love to make up for broken promises..

  • Karen

I’m looking forward to enjoying a wonderful time at the foodie fest! I hope I win the 2 tickets, it would be an awesome time to enjoy GREAT food and meet my wonderful Orange neighbors and possibly meet the writer of this fantastic column. Thanks!!

  • Esther

I want to try EVERYTHING at the foodie fest! I’m in San Diego and don’t get the chance to venture up and chase down the LA/OC food trucks often, so a fest where so many trucks are gathered is the perfect opportunity for me to feast on a variety of food truck fare. I’m a big foodie and would love this chance to go VIP!

  • Tiffany Burbridge

Having the opputunity to try so many different styles of food is why I love a good foodie fest :) Plus entertainment AND shopping?? That’s awesome!
