I Heart on the Hunt: Best Pizza Spots in Old Towne Orange

Just because we don’t live in Chicago, New York, or Italy doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be able to indulge in an amazing slice of pizza in our own backyard. We must admit that Old Towne Orange is definitely spoiled in the pizza department. There are so many wonderful options we often find it difficult to choose one spot. If you’re wondering which of our OTO pizza hot spots to try next we have created a list of our personal favorites.

o 1. Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza: Blaze has been heating things up lately at the circle. It seems like locals have been buzzing about it since they opened last year. It is one of our personal favorites here at IHOTO for many reasons. Their ‘build your own pizza’ style menu allows you to choose from dozens of fresh ingredients leaving you with endless combinations to create. This spot is AWESOME for people with dietary restrictions. Vegan? Gluten free? No problem! They have alternative options so everyone can enjoy their pie exactly how they want! After choosing your ingredients, watch that pizza blaze while it’s hand-rotated in an open flame domed oven. Make sure to stop by soon to enjoy the pizza and of course the beautiful VIP view of the circle!

o-12. The Pizza Press: The Pizza Press is another great option, similar to Blaze, they offer a “Publish your Own Pizza” menu. They also have healthy alternatives for those who wish not to consume gluten and dairy. If you feel overwhelmed with all the ingredient choices they have eight unique signature pizzas sure to make your mouth water. Don’t even get us started on the brews! If you love beer as much as pizza, this will be your “go to” spot. They carry many finely curated craft beer selections sourced both locally and nationally. Guests can enjoy their pizza “hot off the press” and are encouraged to get their “pizza storytelling” on. Stop by – they’re definitely newsworthy.

3. Zito’s Pizza: If you’re longing for New York style and quality pizza, you must give Zito’s a try. Tucked o-2away in the heart of Old Towne, people come from across Orange County just to eat at Zito’s. They strive to bring customers a tasty experience by using top quality ingredients such as fresh cheeses, homemade sauces, and hand-tossed dough made fresh daily. Just in case someone in the group isn’t feeling pizza; they also have an extensive menu that includes sandwiches, salads, and pasta just to name a  few. Keep your eyes peeled for the Zito’s sign on north Glassell Street.

4. Haven Gastropub: Haven  is known for their mouthwatering cocktails, appetizers, and mo-3ains. While all of those are amazing, you may never have thought to try one of their delicious flatbread pizzas! For all my vegans and vegetarians, their margherita flatbread is for you. You may decide to skip the cheese to enjoy the natural flavors of the herbs and spices. For all the carnivores out there – the Italian sausage is a scrumptious option. It’s topped with braised kale, fresno chiles, and farmers cheese. The flatbreads are also a part of their late night menu to conquer those evening cravings.

We know, with so many tempting choices it’s hard to decide where to go next. Why not try them all this summer? You’ll definitely fall in love with each spot for a unique set of reasons. All of these pizzas are totally Instagram worthy. Don’t forget to snap a picture and hashtag #iheartoldtowneorange!

Happy grubbing!
