Our Favorite Vegetarian Meals in Old Towne Orange

Last week we shared our Meat Lover’s Guide to Old Towne Orange! But you know we would never want our vegetarian OTO lovers to feel left out! So we have compiled a few of our fave meatless meals offered in Old Towne. While most restaurants serve delish salads, these meals are, in our opinion, a little more filling. After you’ve read this post and you think we missed something, make sure to let us know! Now let’s get into it!

Fork and Salad

Fork and Salad is such a magical restaurant in Old Towne Orange because customers have total control when they build their salads, sandwiches, and wraps! While their build-your-own salad bowl is an obvious choice for vegetarians, we want to highlight their Baked Quinoa-Falafels! Not only are they vegetarian, but they’re also vegan AND gluten-free! You can add these ultimate balls of plant-based protein into your salads, sandwiches (our fave way to eat them!), and wraps. One of Fork and Salad’s founders/chefs spent a whole six months perfecting this flavorful falafel recipe, so you know they’re made with love!

Citrus City Grille

This bowl has us screaming one word: YAAAAAAS! I am a huge fan of pasta drowning in any type of Marsala sauce. This pasta dish from Citrus City Grille skips the classic chicken and instead showcases their delicately cooked wild mushrooms. You can also substitute your pasta to whole grain or gluten-free, just ask your server when you order. This is such a tasty meal, but beware it is a bit rich in the creamy Marsala cream sauce.

Urth Caffe

Urth Caffe is world-famous (yes, world!) for their organic foods and drinks! While I have tried nearly all of Urth’s extensive menu, I always find myself ordering the Caprese Sandwich! The slices of mozzarella really do taste so fresh and pair very well with both the tomato slices and roasted peppers! This sandwich comes with a mixed greens salad and I usually create my own smoothie (with boba) to enjoy on the side! This sandwich is filling and delish year-round.

Wahoo’s Fish Tacos

Tacos, enchiladas, bowls, and sandwiches! All vegetarian!! Thank you Wahoo’s Fish Taco for serving more than just fish (although I crave their blackened fish all the time)! There are so many protein options you can customize most meals at Wahoo’s. Their sauteed tofu is so flavorful even tofu-skeptics can enjoy! And while you’re there, complete your meal with Wahoo’s cajun fries and Maui onion rings which are two shareable sides that are definitely on my guilty pleasures list!

Rutabegorz

When I first think of Rutabegorz, all I picture is their novel-like menu! But don’t let that menu intimidate you, they have a key at the bottom of the menu that identifies if a meal is vegetarian, gluten-free or a seasonal special. There are so many vegetarian options at Ruta’s we had a tough time deciding which meal to feature, but there is a standout for us. Drum roll, please… We LOVE Ruta’s BBQ Burger which is topped with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and BBQ sauce. Ruta’s uses veggie patties on all of their burgers! This burger comes with a side of Ruta’s delightful and meat-less Killer Chili (SO GOOD!), and we like to put some inside of our burger!
