From Dairy Treet to Bruxie

I realize that this may make a few of you wail in sadness, but I’ve just heard that the Dairy Treet, located on Glassell just across from Chapman University is going to retire. Open since 1948, the Kim’s who own the Dairy Treet, are retiring. The new owners will be introducing not only a new name but a new menu. Soon to be called Bruxie, this hot little spot will be serving an array of sweet and savory waffles through morning, noon and night. Also on the menu will be Peet’s Coffee and frozen custards. All this will be taking place in about 4 weeks time, so head on down and get your last Dairy Treet soon!

  1. Lame. I mean, it’s great that the stand will no longer be teriyaki everything inside an industrialized shack, but it really misses the chance to reclaim its heritage and service the college students by abandoning burgers and ice cream for upscale waffles and yet another coffee outlet.
