Blaze is On Fire!

Blaze 8Whoa this place is sizzilin’! This week Orange welcomed it’s newest pizza hotspot, Blaze Pizza! I Heart visited Blaze at its grand opening and cooked up our own review of their fresh pizzas.  Check it out!

Catherine: We all love pizza here at I Heart OTO and I wasn’t about to miss the opening of Old Towne’s newest pizza place, Blaze Pizza! There are a few local locations in Fashion Island, UCI, and Westfield Main Place, so I’ve heard about Blaze before, and now I’m so excited that there’s one right here in town! Walking in, I loved the bright colors, big tables and high ceilings that decorated the restaurant. I ordered the Red Vine pizza after the friendly worker explained the menu. That pizza was delicious!  Next time I’m definitely going to try the Build-Your-Own option! There wasn’t any beer or wine available when we went, but they should be offering that soon. If you can save room, the S’more Pie dessert looked amazing! The line was long on that day of the opening but it seems to have mellowed out over the last few days, so definitely go try Blaze for yourself!

Jillian: If I hear the words “free pizza,” you can always count on me to be first in line! I absolutely love BBQ Chicken pizza, so that was the first thing I had to try when I went to Blaze! This pizza comes with chicken, mozzarella, red onion, banana peppers, Gorgonzola and BBQ sauce drizzle. The employees were very friendly and accommodating when I wanted to make some additions to my pizza (I always love to add pineapple). I really like pizza crust, so I will say that I wish the crust was a little crispier. If you haven’t checked out Blaze yet, you should head over and say hello to our newest neighbor in Old Towne Orange!

Jonai: I can’t lie; I was a little skeptical about Blaze Pizza coming to the Orange Circle. It seemed like Pizza Press had just finished sweeping up the confetti from its grand opening celebration days before Blaze showed up, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to even give Blaze a try, but the allure of free pizza made me change my tune. I ordered the Red Vine pizza – mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan, basil, red sauce, and olive oil drizzle – with a gluten free crust. They ran out of basil, but I wouldn’t dock them for that considering it was their grand opening and since they were generous enough to hand out free pizza, I wasn’t about to complain! And actually, the pizza was delicious! It had great flavor, and even the simple pizza I ordered just tasted like it had a little something special to it. The workers were also super accommodating to me ordering a gluten free crust, offering to change their gloves and wash the ladles assuming I had a severe allergy. The crust wasn’t my favorite gluten free crust, but not bad. I’d go back to Blaze!
