Lovely, Lovely Laurenly…for the Fashionista in You!

With wide eyes, long lashes and a fierce sense of style, Lauren Leigh Miller is opening shop in OTO.

I am SO excited to report that Laurenly, fashions for women, is GRAND OPENING this Saturday, June 26 at 10 am. I had the opportunity to meet up with this amazing young woman just the other day and here’s what I learned about her.

Why is Laurenly the perfect shop for the Circle?

Well, Lauren Leigh (hence the name) Miller went to Chapman University and knew that this type of store was lacking in Old Towne Orange. Her shop, with its boutiquey, quaint and unique pieces fits perfectly the charm of the Circle…there’s nothing else around to serve this market.

Who’s going to wear Laurenly’s fashions?

While the majority of the inventory at Laurenly is suited for the 18 – 30 market, women of all ages can find something in this boutique that fits their style. It might be the perfect top or a unique piece of jewelry, there’s really something here for everybody.

On pricing, because I know you want to know…

You can find tops at Laurenly from $20 and up; tanks from $12 and up; sun dresses from $30 and up; and jewelry from $12 and up. The boutique also offers designer lines that go for higher prices, so there’s a nice balance and range of pricing. She’s shooting to top out at the $200 mark.

An interesting tidbit is that some of her jewelry lines are from handmade local jewelers, Lauren herself has designed her own line called ‘Lauren-Leigh Jewelry.’

While the shop will carry many boutique collections, it will also carry some designer lines like: Paige Denim; Joe’s Jeans; Siwy Denim; Ella Moss; Lucy Love; Wild Fox Couture; Alternative Apparel; Lovely People Shoes; and more.

A little bit about Lauren

Lauren comes from a close-knit family of entrepreneurs, many in the fashion business. Her aunt has 3 stores, 2 of them clothing, in Los Alamitos and Long Beach. In Long Beach, she owns and operates Miyamo and in Los Alamitos, it’s The Denim Bar and Flags with a Flair. Her cousin also has a shop up north and when she was younger, her mom had a shop called Something Cute. I asked her ‘why fashion?’ and she let me know that since she was 2 years old (for real) she collected hand bags and jewelry. Her mom put up a bunch of hooks on the back of her bedroom door for little Lauren to store her collection and at times it was difficult to get that door open all the way. Instead of playing Doctor or Kick the Can, Lauren would play ‘Store’ and ‘Fashion Designer,’ so it’s safe to say that it’s been in her since birth.

At Chapman University, she majored in Advertising and PR. Graduating in 2006, she went off to NYC and attended Parsons, The New School for Design to receive her Fashion Design Degree. She’s worked for numerous boutiques and clothing stores both in California and New York. When she moved back here from New York to figure out what she wanted to do, the absolute obvious choice was to open a clothing boutique.

Lauren comes from a big family with 6 children and one of her brothers is currently attending Chapman. She resides in Belmont Shore, Long Beach. I asked her a few quick questions just for fun.
