Christmas is just around the corner and Old Towne Orange is beginning to get in the spirit. Everyone's favorite time of the year is here with the 21st Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Candlelight Choir Procession. It is a time for the community to gather and start the Christmas celebrations. It will be held Sunday, December 6th in the historic Old Towne Plaza.
Everyone is invited to join in on some holiday cheer, photo opportunities with Santa, and many activities that include crafts, carnival games, and moon bounce. It will be a celebration for all ages to enjoy. Food will also be sold by local non-profit groups for a nominal fee, which supports their works in our community.
The event begins at 3:30 pm with the chance for kids to meet Santa. The tree lighting itself does not begin until 5:15pm with the addition of a 350 voice choir candlelight procession. The singers will be joined by a full orchestra, led by musical director Michael Short.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for this amazing event coming up. It's a great way to join the community in spreading holiday cheer and it allows you to start Christmas off the right way. It is a free event that everyone can enjoy so head on down with your family or grab some friends and have fun!
