I’m sad to report that PJ’s Abbey has been sold. Many of you know that they’ve had the building up for sale for some time now and have been doing business as usual but someone posted on Facebook today, and I confirmed, that they’ve sold the business to El Ranchito.

Happy Friday everybody! Wanted to share a few events with you for the weekend. It should be a good one and there are lots of options to entertain you from late night music at PJ’s Abbey to an Artist’s Reception at Copperwood to a couple of Valentine’s Day boutiques. Many of you have read or heard that our beloved PJ’s Abbey is up for sale. I’m sure you all know by now that I am the kind of person that is ‘all for change,’ but sometimes (more than I’d like to admit to myself) even I sit back and am saddened by what the recent economy has done to us on many, and I mean many, levels. This happens to be one of those instances and what takes it up a notch is that I personally know the Mead Family and can attest to their hearts, and their passion for this community.

This year, Mother’s Day brunch was spent at PJ’s Abbey with the family. Sharing a meal at the Abbey is, honest-to-goodness, like going over to your mom’s house for Sunday dinner, which is what we typically do on our Sunday’s. Today, we sat on the porch with our party of 6 and right next to us was a casual party who’d brought along their beautiful Golden Retriever…it’s that kind of place…bring your kids, bring your dogs, dress up or come casual, the Abbey will welcome you in and follow through with good comforting food.

I thought it would be a great idea to give everybody some tips on where they can buy a great gift for Mom before Sunday. Many of our shops are having specials or gift with purchase. In addition to that, I’ve included some great spots you can take Mom and the rest of the family out for a special meal.
