Historic Orange Walking Tours Starting Soon

Whether you're a visitor to Old Towne Orange or you live in or around the area, these walking tours are for everyone. Each year, the Orange Community Historical Society puts on these walking tours which offer us a peek into Old Towne's history. The tours are given by docents who will share the story of Orange's founding and the significance of some of its downtown buildings. The tours begin at the end of April and go through the end of October.

Antique of the Week – Cheval Mirror

I was shopping in Grand Avenue Antiques the other day for something fun to write about when I spotted this beauty. I, for one, have always been a fan of Cheval Mirrors and I thought this one was fabulous and looks like it's in great condition. It was made at the turn of the century, and was actually dated September 28, 1908. Diane Zalay (owner of Grand Avenue Antiques) told me that the only thing she did was re-silver the mirror. The wood is Mahogany. My photo definitely does not do it justice, it's a 'must-see' in person.

Dinner at Francoli’s, OTO’s Newest Hot Spot

"Well, we finally made it to Francoli's Resturant at it's new location in Orange. We went on a Monday evening and it was already getting crowded at 6pm. They don't take reservations and they do have limited seating, but I came by about 30 minutes before we were meeting our friends and they were kind enough to reserve a table for 6 for me. We definitely got the best table..."

A Taste of Orange – April 25!

As a resident of Orange for the past 8 years, I cannot believe that I have not known about the Taste of Orange. I say this because I love these types of events. Anytime someone puts together a bunch of restaurants for an evening, I’m pretty much in. So, I’m happy to report that the 5th Annual Taste of Orange is happening on April 25 from 4-7pm and I will be there with fork-in-hand!
