Field of Valor

Community Foundation of Orange will turn the Little League fields of Handy Park into a reverent place, its Field of Valor. It is a place where people from Orange County and beyond can go to recognize, appreciate and support our U.S. troops. The Field of Valor will be open to the public Sunday, November 6th through Friday, November 11th from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm daily.

The park’s entire field will be covered by 1776 3’x5’ American flags honoring and proudly remembering those who are currently serving in the military, those who have served, and those who paid the ultimate price, by giving their lives in service to our country. CFO will be raising money for local Veterans and Active Duty Military & their families through sponsorships and sales of individual flags for $35.

Opening Ceremonies will commence on Sunday, November 6th at 1:00 pm. A Flag lowering ceremony will take place each evening at 4:45 pm. The special closing ceremony is appropriately scheduled for Friday, November 11th (Veteran’s Day) at 4:45 pm.
