1888 Center Workshop: Loose Vintage Florals With Cara Rosalie Olsen

This workshop will begin the first half of class with a brief but thorough look at the supplies we’ll be using, before moving on to how to mix watercolors to achieve the muted palette in Cara’s designs. From there you will begin to explore how to identify common shapes within nature to create simple but beautiful florals, which also makes the process from head to hand a smoother transition. This launches you into the second half of class, where together you and Cara will practice a few simple exercises designed to make you more familiar with the supplies before moving on to create the elements that will be used to compose yours floral, vintage-inspired piece. You will leave the class with both a firm understanding of how to use all your supplies as well as the skills to begin creating your very own collection of art. Most importantly, you will have FUN.

The cost of the class includes all supplies: paper, brushes, palette filled with all the colors you’ll need for the class.

Cara DOES ask that you print out and bring with you the syllabus and a pen to class. It will be helpful to make notes and follow along.
