I’m Craving Some Pizza Press

Happy happy November everyone! We hope you had a fun and safe Halloween! I can’t seem to understand how it is already November, but am happy to say we have arrived at the best time of year (or my favorite, at least). There is something blissful about holiday decorations at the mall, winter jackets (or SoCal winter jackets), and spending time with loved ones.

This week, I got to visit The Pizza Press (definitely not for the first time, but for the first time in a little while) and sample some of their flavorful pies. Create-your-own pizzas are becoming so popular recently. The days of cheese or pepperoni only are gone, and now you can stack your flatbread with as many toppings as you want – all for one flat price, no pun intended. What makes Pizza Press special, however, is the theme that they commit to for your entire restaurant experience. The Pizza Press revolves around the idea of the American newspaper in the 1920’s. In this time, the distribution of the newspaper was vital to the spread of information throughout local and national communities. If you have seen the Broadway musical or Disney movieĀ Newsies, you know what I mean!

From the white brick-and-mortar aesthetic of the physical restaurant to the employee’s outfits, they are trying to serve you a classic 1920’s experience. They use lingo such as “publishing” your pizza, for creating and baking, or suggest choosing one of the many pre-made pizza options they offer. Some of these include “The Times,” a BBQ pizza, “The Tribune,” a sausage and pepperoni pizza, and “The Chronicle,” an artichoke and mushroom vegetable pizza.

I went with 2 build-your-owns, publishing a meat-lovers pizza and a vegan pizza. I stacked my meat-lovers pizza with pepperoni and sausage and my vegan pizza with artichoke, cherry tomatoes, and arugula. Both of these pizzas were so delicious, my mouth is watering just typing about them now!

The Pizza Press offers dairy-free cheese for those with dairy sensitivities and a gluten-free crust. Visit The Pizza Press this week for a fun and delicious meal; they’ll be sure to publish your pizza in perfect time. Have a great weekend everyone and we will see you around towne!
