From 6-8pm, Old Towne Preservation Association (OTPA) judges will be cruising the streets of OTO for the annual holiday decorating contest. The judges for this year’s competition will be three OTO merchants who are non-residents. OTPA will hand out awards for the following: Best Use of Lights, Most Old-Fashioned, Most Original, Best Block and Most Beautiful. Last night I finally had the opportunity to take the Haunted Orange tour. The guys that put this together started doing the tours in Old Towne Orange last year and I just couldn’t make my schedule and their tour dates work, so I was so excited to finally be going.
Here’s the quick low down…It’s an evening walking tour that starts at 8pm. There is a guide that takes you around town and tells you all about the paranormal activity going on in Old Towne. You also get to hear a bunch of historical tidbits, which is fun when you live in a place rich with history. The tour lasts just under 2 hours and there’s more talking than walking.
