Happy 100th Birthday to Orange’s Longest Living Resident, Lydia Schroeder

Today is a pretty momentous day, for it is the celebration of a very special birthday. Her name is Lydia Schroeder and today she turns 100 years young. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Miss Lydia last week after I heard she’d been honored at our recent 125 years as a city celebration. Lydia, who’s maiden name is Walker, has lived in the City of Orange for 92 years, making her our longest living resident…how cool is that!

“Door-knock” or “solicitor” burglars have been spotted in Orange. They sometimes pose as solicitors or service technicians and knock on the front door to see if anyone is home. When nobody answers the door, the thief will look for a back door or window to break into the home. Unlocked doors and windows only make it easier for the burglars!

City of Orange, News »

[23 Aug 2012 | Comments Off | ]

Everybody please be aware that yesterday the City of Orange began receiving calls from residents who were being contacted by a telemarketing firm using the official City of Orange main telephone number, (714) 744-2225, as the caller-id. Use of the City’s number in this way is illegal, and obviously, the City did not give its authorization.
