Shaves, Clips & Cuts at Circle City Barbers

From left – Eric Webb & Phil Hernandez

If you haven’t had the chance to stroll by this classic new barbershop, then I highly suggest you do. I’d say it perfectly complements the flavor of Old Towne Orange. Owned by Phil Hernandez and Eric Webb, this punk rock inspired barbershop caters to the ‘walk-in’ client with Men’s Cuts at $20, Straight Razor Shaves at $20 and a Single Clip Buzz at $10.

To give you a little background on these boys, Eric grew up in Old Towne Orange. He was born to cut hair, and did so for all his friends as a teenager. One of his first jobs was at Jake’s Barber Shop, just across the street from their current locale, 20 years ago. Jake’s had a rockabilly vibe to it and if you’ve never heard of it, then you’ve got to check out THIS commercial they did back in the day. It’s seriously a classic! Phil got in to the business more recently and they met while working together at Syndicate in Long Beach. They hit it off, found they had a lot in common and eventually decided to open up shop in Old Towne Orange, which for Eric was coming back to his roots.

The name Circle City Barbers was inspired by the Circle City Saloon, which played punk rock shows in the early 80s, right here in OTO, and the theme of their shop is true to who they are. It’s filled with tattoo art (not just on the walls, mind you), rock ‘n’ roll, hot rod and chopper memorabilia.

They are located just off Chapman at 111 N. Olive Street and are open Tuesday – Friday from 10am – 7pm, Saturday’s from 10am – 4pm and Sunday’s from 10am – 2pm. Digits are 714-453-9765 or email to [email protected], walk-ins are preferred.

Best of luck to the both of you!
