Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Old Towne Orange

We always feel lucky to be residents of Old Towne Orange, but we feel especially so this St. Patrick’s Day!

Wake yourself up with fresh brewed coffee (perhaps, make it a little Irish?) and a holiday-appropriate breakfast from one of our many nearby restaurants.

Serving up an appetizing corned beef hash, Irish benedict, and coffee, Kimmie’s Coffee Shop may just be the place to start your day of luck.

Other local eateries dishing out delicious Irish breakfasts include Watson’s Soda Fountain & Cafe and Cafe Zócalo—so you’ve got some great options to kick the day off!

The Most Wonderful Time for a Beer!

Irish I Was A Little Bit Taller Red Ale from The Wall

Finding a good Irish beer or cocktail in Old Towne Orange when O’Hara’s Pub is shut down may seem like a difficult feat, but we’re happy to let you know that you have options!

You can head over to The Wall and get an Irish I Was A Little Bit Taller to go (or to enjoy out on their patio). This beer is an Irish-style red ale with delightful notes of fresh, toasty biscuits and sweet dark caramel. You can also head over to The District Lounge for a Guinness Stout!

If beer isn’t your thing, they also offer a Black Hatton, a tasty Irish cocktail made with Jameson Black Irish Whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. To complete your Irish beer tasting rounds, consider going a little bit out of the way to Hollingshead’s Delicatessen on Main St.

There, you’ll find another great red ale called Bog Trotter. This one blends caramel and roasted malts with an English yeast for a unique and balanced flavor profile.

If you’re choosing to take your Irish beers to go, make sure to grab yourself one of these cool Street Fair pint glasses for the perfect St. Patrick’s Day vibe.

And by “greens,” we mean milkshakes, pies, and cakes—duh! Forget the Shamrock Shake, Bruxie has incredible seasonal mint-chocolate and mint shakes made with mint-infused Wisconsin frozen custard (with a bit of green for luck, of course!).

Starting Friday, March 5th, you’ll be able to pick up a delectable matcha pie from The Pie Hole. It will only be available throughout March, so don’t wait to order!

You can also find a little green at Urth Caffé with their matcha tiramisu. With our amazing local bakeries and eateries, you’ll never be in a sweets shortage.

However you choose to celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day, we wish you a day filled with luck and good spirits!
