Antique of the Week – Brandy-Warming Spoon

This week I made my first visits to several of the businesses in Old Towne Orange. The first of our antique shops was A & P Collectables. They very recently made a move across the street on Glassell after having been in the same location for 29 years. Quite a move that was! I had met one of the owners, Lisa Ackerman, through Facebook and so, of course, they had to be my first stop. After meeting Lisa and her mother Bonnie and getting to a little bit about them, I asked her what her favorite thing in the store was and she had something in mind immediately.

The Frog’s Breath Wine & Cheese Store

As a foody, one of my favorite things to do is eat, of course. But tied with that is drinking wine. I am a wine lover, though not a connoisseur, and I love wine tasting. A couple of years ago, this amazing store opened up in Old Town Orange, a wine and cheese shop called Frog’s Breath Cheese Store. SO perfect for our quaint little town and right up my alley.

A Haven in Old Towne Orange

FFor those of you who know Old Towne Orange, you know that it’s been missing something. And that thing is a good pub with good food. Now, I know there’s a bar at Citrus City, as well as Gabby’s, and there’s always good ole’ O’Hara’s and The District Lounge, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about a bar where you can hang out and watch a game, or sit at a table and order some great food. Well, that place has arrived, and it’s called Haven Gastropub.

I Heart Old Towne Orange

I am a wife and mother. I also have a career in marketing, advertising and social media. And, I live 2 blocks from the border of Old Towne Orange. A border (yes, a distinct border!) which I cross as often as I possibly can. I've lived here for 7 years, but it only took me a day to fall in love with The Circle and all it had to offer. I've watched Old Towne Orange go through quite a little renaissance over, say, the past 5 years. Whatever the City's been doing to bring in businesses that resonate with a younger crowd, well, it's been working.
