Hello everyone! How are you doing on this fine Old Towne Orange day? It has been an absolutely lovely week and we couldn't feel more blessed. Valentine's Day is right around the corner so I wanted to share some Valentine's Day Date Ideas with you! Over the past couple months, I have been able to explore nearly all of Old Towne Orange and have found the most quaint spots and restaurants for reigning in this loving holiday. Whether you are spending Valentine's Day with a significant other, your best friends, or your family, make sure you tell those you care about that you appreciate them and take a trip down to Old Towne Orange.
Dinner - We have some of the best dining in Old Towne Orange! One of my favorite places to have a nice dine-in meal is Francoli Gourmet. Francoli Gourmet is a classic trattoria with a Northern Italian menu featuring an adjoining specialty-foods shop. My experience at Francoli was one of the best I have had in Old Towne and I'd recommend it for any special occasion, including Valentine's Day. Additionally, I would recommend Watson's Soda Fountain & Cafe for a California original soda fountain experience. We ran across Watson's History webpage that talks about how Watson's dates back to 1899. Straight from the webpage, it states, "Watson Drug Store In 1899, Watson Drug opened as K.E. Watson’s, first on Glassell St., then to its present location on Chapman Avenue in Orange, CA. It was around this time in many parts of the United States laws were passed that prohibited the selling of soda water on Sunday. As an alternative on Sunday’s, local soda fountains began selling ice cream sodas, minus the soda, which left only the ice cream and syrup. That became the recipe of what we know today as the ice cream sundae." This is a great webpage. It's always nice to run across some Old Towne Orange history while I am writing the blog posts. Check it out here! Watson's is great for friends, family, and fun on Valentine's Day!
Shopping - The shopping and antiquing scene is so grand in Old Towne, all you need to do is take a stroll around the plaza to find some of the best shops around! Visit The Potting Shed for home and garden finds, the 1888 Center for the best reads in town, or Old Towne Havana for some cigars. Whether you are looking for antiques, clothes, or books, you will find it here in Old Towne!
Dessert - After dinner, indulge in something sweet for Valentine's Day! If you have not read our dessert blog, check it out here! We visited Haute Sweets Baking Co, A La Minute, and the Perfect Circle Cupcakery to check out all their sweet treats! Stopping by one of these amazing Old Towne Orange dessert shops will be perfect for a Valentine's Day date!
Strolling / Plaza Park - And of course, an Old Towne Orange date would not be complete without a stroll around Plaza Park or the circle. Not only is it romantic, but it is the perfect end to Valentine's Day with friends, families, and children. Make sure to add pictures to your Instagram story and tag us at @IHeartOldTowneOrange
