Delicious Farmers Market Fall Tomato Soup

On Saturday morning, I put on my shorts and sweatshirt (a popular Southern California combination) and made my way down to the Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market. The farmers market is the perfect spot for shopping, taste testing, listening to music, entertaining the kids, or even an adorable morning date. Of course, it is also the ideal place to support local farmers, artisans, and businesses. We love Orange, and we love our farmers!

I entered the market, located on the North West corner of Palm and Cypress, not knowing what ingredients or recipe I was whipping up for dinner this week. However, it only took the crisp fall morning breeze and one glance at the plump tomatoes to be inspired to make a fall tomato soup. Fall screams soup to me, and tomato soup is one of my favorites. And don’t worry, this soup is vegan, gluten-free, paleo, and refined sugar-free: perfect for everyone!

From the farmers market, I obtained the tomatoes, yellow onions, and avocado. The remaining ingredients I either had at home or picked up at my local grocery store. Follow this photo journal to see my process of making the soup:

It was so delicious! This soup would go well with garlic bread, grilled cheese, or even a cheesy quesadilla. It was the perfect lunch and only took about 1.5 hours to make, with about an hour of that being cook time. I added more salt and Tamari than the recipe yielded, just adding to taste.

Thank you so much to Sprouted Routes for this recipe! Make sure to check out their recipe and make this soup for yourself with ingredients from the Farmers Market.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
