Guess what’s coming up: the Old Towne Preservation’s biennial Historic Home Tour in Old Towne Orange and I get to giveaway 2 tickets (GIVEAWAY ALREADY COMPLETED)!
The tour will be on Saturday and Sunday, November 2-3. Visitors are invited to have a taste of Orange’s past and experience what makes our quaint historic district a cultural treasure, a desirable neighborhood, and a favorite tourist destination! This year, the owners of five beautiful homes and a commercial building will graciously open their doors to you.
I did some poking and got some information on one of the places of the tour, which is never released early, so this is a major sneak peek! The commercial property, RWB Party Props, owned by Lori & Bobby Babcock, is one of, if not the last, remaining wooden built packing houses in California, and even perhaps the nation! Since the 1980s, the 72,000 sq. ft. building has been used to store life-sized props for the movie industry, weddings, holidays and parties. The property has many original features, one being the original water hydraulic freight elevator, which is still maintained to State specifications.
That’s as much as I can tell you about the specifics! Brochures will be printed and available for pick up at Will Call on November 2 and 3 at the Orange Public Library. This is the first time you can find out the actual addresses and route of the tour-not knowing ahead of time is part of the fun! Al Ricci’s trolley will make continuous loops to the properties, but it is a walking tour! For more information about the tour itself, and to get your tickets, visit the website!
But that’s not all the excitement I have for you. I also get to give away 2 free tickets to the tour! The winners’ names will be added to the Will Call list and they can pick up their printed booklet on November 2 and 3.
