H OTO Events October 27   November 2October 27, 2pm: Come check out Family Halloween Spooktacular at the Orange Public Library & Historic Center. This free event features games, prizes, crafts, face painting and a costume contest. Students from Chapman University’s Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society will be volunteer leaders for the event. It’s sure to be a great time! Please arrive early as this event is first come, first served.

October 27, 10am-3pm: The Assistance League of Orange is sponsoring a children’s book drive. Please bring your “new” children’s books to the tables in front of the Assistance League’s “Now and Again” thrift store located at 20 Plaza Square in Orange. The books will be donated to local schools and those in need in our community. These books will bring many smiles to the children in our community!!!

October 30, 2:30 and 7pm: Chapman University’s Tabula Poetica Poetry Reading Series presents special guest William Stobb. The lecture will take place at 2:30pm and the readings will be at 7pm. October 31, 10am-6pm: The Dizzy Daisy is offering a trick-or-treating opportunity for kids in the community on Halloween! They will be open from 10am-6pm and will be passing out candy to all the costumed children that come into the shop. The Dizzy Daisy is located at 292 S Tustin Street, Orange, CA 92866. If parents have any questions, they can reach the shop at 714-289-1123.

November 1 & 2, 9am-5pm: Eduardo Correa, D.D.S., Pediatric Dentistry is sponsoring a Halloween Candy Buy Back. They will buy back Halloween candy from local kids at $1 per pound and then send the candy to the troops overseas. What better way to get the holidays started off by saying thank you to those who protect our freedom? Bring your candy to Pediatrics Dentistry at 245 N Glassell Street, Suite B. November 1-4: The Assistance League of Orange is hosting our 20th Annual Boutique Noël Event from Nov. 1-4 at the Chapter House in Old Towne Orange, 124 South Orange Street, Orange, CA. You can find an assortment of items such as jewelry, seasonal decorations for the home and the yard, delicious food items, clothing, handbags, fun hats, pet supplies, and much more!  The Thrift Shop will also be open during the Boutique featuring a large collection of pristine condition collectible plates (in their original boxes) from artists such as Hummel, Goebel, Bing, Grondahl, Royal Dalton, and Schmidt Christmas plates, along with Madam Alexander dolls. Proceeds benefit the Chapter’s philanthropic programs including Operation School Bell, Orangewood Children and Family Center, Scholarships and Special Assistance. November 2-4: Summerhill Antiques Ltd. is bringing in new inventory for the upcoming holiday season, and would also like to welcome you to their “Open House Holiday Celebration” running from Nov. 2-Nov. 4. They have a great new selection of classic furnishings, elegant tabletop accessories, fabulous vintage jewelry, and unique gifts. November 2, 8pm: Chapman University presents its 31st Annual American Celebration Opening Night. Enjoy an evening of dazzling entertainment provided by a cast of more than 100 singing and dancing students from Chapman’s acclaimed College of Performing Arts, accompanied by a live orchestra, in fully-produced scenes from Broadway’s hottest shows. Every year, this not-to-be missed extravaganza is produced by Chapman University with vital support from Orange County’s most committed philanthropists and volunteers. In total, American Celebration has raised more than $20 million to provide scholarships to Chapman’s best and most deserving students. The Orange Solar Project Ends November 5 at 11:59pm. The citywide cash-back incentives end November 5th at midnight, so there are just a few weeks left to take advantage of this special offer when you go solar. The Orange Solar Program allows eligible participants to go solar for no upfront cost and receive not only cash-back awards but also state and federal incentives.
