October 6, 7:30am: Come check out Chapman University’s 5k Run/Walk! Join the fun at the “Flattest, Fastest and ‘Funnest’ 5K in the World!” The course takes you through the Old Towne Orange Historic District finishing on Chapman University’s picturesque campus. Call (714) 628-2750 for more details.
October 6, 10am-2pm: Safety and Disaster Preparedness Relief Clinic at the Orange Home Depot. Learn how to find a remove fire hazards from your home, detect smoke/fire/carbon monoxide in your home, create a fire escape plan, and determine the type of security lighting needed in your home. October 6: Beginning on October 6th and continuing through November 17th, the Orange
Public Library is bringing back Cover to Cover Club. Kids (ages 4 – 12) can join Cover to Cover Club for free and earn one IN-N-OUT hamburger for every five library books they read! Sign-up at the Children’s Desks at any of the Orange Public Libraries.
October 7, 10am: Join Chapman University’s Interfaith Center for their Homecoming and Family Weekend Interfaith Service. All are invited to attend this interfaith service to celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend 2012 and Chapman’s Spiritual Pillar. Join Dean of the Chapel, Dr. Gail Stearns for this special spiritual event. Share in song and prayer from a multitude of different faith traditions! All are welcome! There is no RSVP required. October 7: Beginning October 7, Manhattan Steak and Seafood will be hosting s Sunday Brunch Buffet, every Sunday from 10am-2:30pm. Enjoy flowing champagne, made-to-order stations, a bloody mary bar, live entertainment, and more! Manhattan Steak and Seafood also plans to have art students from Chapman University display their work throughout the restaurant. October 7, 9am: Registration opens for the Orange Senior Center’s Wheels for Meals program. The senior center is
inviting the community to support their many programs, including Meals on Wheels which delivers food to home-bound residents throughout Orange. Every Saturday from 9am-1pm: The Old Towne Orange Farmer’s & Artisan’s Market takes place at 304 North Cypress Street. Enjoy all natural, certified & organic produce, meats, breads & more. Now that the holiday season is fast approaching, the Farmer’s Market will be carrying festive fall pumpkins! And don’t forget to check out their special Oct 13 Movie Screening of The Wrecking Crew. October 10, 6pm-7:30pm: Whodunit? Can you solve the crime and identify the killer? Teens will question suspects, investigate motives and alibis, and search for clues to solve the mystery. October 10, 6pm: Chapman University recently renovated the Historic Mennonite Church located at 145 West Sycamore. Hear from Chapman University leadership & architects about the restoration of the 1919 church. Chapman has restored many properties in Old Towne Orange, but this newly renovated church was a special project. Wine & lite fare will be served.
