September 15, 10am-5pm: Down Home’s annual Fall Open House! The store will be decked out with harvest decor and tasty treats. The first 50 customers will receive a free gift. There will be a food drive as well so anyone who brings a non-perishable food item will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize!
September 15, 2-2:45pm: David Cousin’s juggling show at the Orange Public Library & History Center. David Cousin’s juggling show features comedy, music, and lots of audience involvement. Arrive early as seating is first come, first served. For more information, go HERE, or call (714) 288-2420.
September 15, 5:30pm: Orange Park Acres Community is holding its 41st Annual Fall BBQ on Sat. Sept. 15. This western fall BBQ and dance is $30 for a ticket to raffles, dancing, silent auctions, and BBQ deliciousness! This event is for adults 21 and over only and will be located at Davidsons’ Residence, 6122 Santiago Canyon Road. You can pick up your tickets at the Hitch ‘N Post at 4925 E. September 16, 2:30pm: Bowers Museum is holding a drumming circle at Kidseum. Expand your musical side with drums from all over the world! Martin Espino, professional musician, leads the circle. Make your own drums to take home. Recommended for ages 2 – 8 with grandparents, parents or adult companion. Included with paid admission. September 18, Lecture at 2:30; Readings at 7:00pm: Chapman University’s poetry project melds the ideas of
tabula rasa (or the blank slate) and ars poetica (or the art of poetry) to make a poetry table around which people, near or far, can gather. Tabula Poetica encompasses an array of activities. Chapman hosts an annual series of poetry readings and lectures, showcasing new and existing talent, sharing poems and information about poetry and encouraging a collaborative exchange of ideas about all things poetry. September 18, 6:30-7pm: Pajama Storytime at Orange Public Library & History Center. This event features stories, finger plays, and songs, for its target audience of 4 to 8 year olds. Children are invited to wear their pajamas. For more information, go HERE, or call (714) 288-2420.
September 19, 6-8pm: Movie Madness Teen Program at Orange Public Library & History Center. Ferris Bueller’s Day off (PG-13) will be playing, and free popcorn and refreshments will be served. For more information, go HERE, or call (714) 288-2418.
September 21, 6pm: Everyone is in love with terrariums these days and we understand why…a cute desktop garden that requires water and care about 4 times per year just can’t be beat! Come join a terrarium building class at Dragonfly Shops and Gardens at 260 North Glassell in Orange! The class is $20 and all supplies are included, but feel free to bring your own jar or vase. September 21 & 22: Chapman University is sponsoring the Big Orange Book Festival. This two-day event features hundreds of great books, discussion panels with accomplished writers, live entertainment, delicious food and welcoming neighbors under a perfect California sky.
