August 11, 7am-3pm: Orange Flea Market every second Saturday of every month! Admission and parking are both free, and pets are allowed! Flea market is located at 146 N. Grand Street (off Chapman just east of the circle). For more information, go HERE.
August 11, 10am: Orange Community Historical Society’s Historic Orange Walking Tours! The walking tours offer visitors a peek into the history of the Plaza District and surrounding areas of Old Towne Orange. Volunteer docents share the story of Orange’s founding and the significance of some of its early residences, businesses, development, and downtown buildings. August 12, 4-5:30pm: Book signing & Discussion with Chris Epting at Moonlight Graham, in celebration of his new book “Baseball in Orange County.” Join Moonlight Graham for a fascinating afternoon of Orange County History & Pop Culture! August 15, 7-8:30pm: Concerts in the park every Wednesday! Pack your picnic baskets, relax and
enjoy the free entertainment under the summer starry sky! This week, Stone Soul performs their soul, Motown, and R&B classics! Concerts in the park are held at Hart Park, located at 701 South Glassell Street (at the 22 Freeway).
August 16, 5:30pm: The Cutting Edge of Modern Physics: Achievements and Opportunities. On the occasion of Yakir Aharonov’s 80th birthday, a group of the world’s most accomplished physicists are visiting Chapman University for a conference on the foundations of quantum physics. On Thursday, August 16 at 5:30pm in the chapel of the Fish Interfaith Center, National Medal of Science winner Yakir Aharonov, Sir Michael Berry, Francois Englert, Paul Davies, and Nobel Laureate Sir Tony Leggett will participate in an open public discussion to kick off the two-day conference.
