City of Orange Salutes America at the 17th annual “3rd of July” Celebration
Any city in America can celebrate July 4, but only the City of Orange needs two whole days to do it! Orange kicks off Independence Day early with the 17th Annual “3rd of July” Celebration. Residents and visitors are invited to come out to El Modena High School on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 to get Independence Day started early at this yearly City event.
Begun in 1996, 3rd of July has grown into a much anticipated community event. Live music, children’s activities, community food booths, and a hometown carnival atmosphere lead up to the grand finale in Fred Kelly Stadium, which features the Orange Community Master Chorale followed by a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to music.
The 17th annual 3rd of July Celebration will take place Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 4 p.m. at El Modena High School, Fred Kelly Stadium, at 3920 East Spring Street, Orange, CA 92869.
Tickets are $7 for adults and children over two years old, and can be purchased at the Community Services Department, 230 East Chapman Avenue (corner of Grand Street) through 5:30p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event after 1:30 p.m.. Residents can get more information by calling the Special Events Hotline at (714) 744 -7278.
For the comfort and safety of those attending the festivities, the city asks that the following rules be observed when attending the July 3rd activities.
- Only blanket seating is allowed on the Stadium field.
- Strollers, wheelchairs, wagons, or other wheeled items are only permitted in designated areas.
- Lawn Chairs, food, drinks, seeds, gum, popcorn, hard-soled or high-heeled shoes are prohibited on the Stadium field. On-site staff may deem items not currently on this list as harmful to the field. If so informed, please help us by not bringing those items onto the field.
