Two Great Camps to Consider Summer 2012
Are you looking for something fun, meaningful, and active for your kids to get involved with this Summer? Summer camps are wonderful ways for kids to build self esteem, self confidence, social skills, leadership skills, and friendships that can last a lifetime. Here are two great options happening this Summer 2012!
Camp Oakes is a resident camp located in Big Bear. This camp prides itself in teaching values and skills to kids that will last a lifetime, as well as encouraging kids to challenge themselves to be leaders and friends. Regardless of the camp activity (archery, canoeing, campfires, nature walks, horseback rides, rock climbing, etc.), Camp Oakes counselors teach kids the lessons of leadership, communication, interpersonal trust, and problem-solving. Camp Oakes OTO prides itself on providing a traditional summer camp setting that your kids will want to return to year after year! The Camp Oakes summer program will take place from July 28 to August 4, and is open to kids ages 8 to 16. View the summer camp flyer HERE. For more info, as well as for the program application, please contact Katie at katiediaz@ymcaoforange.org.
OTO’s own Pa-Kua Orange is also offering a fun summer camp program this year. The Pa-Kua Orange Kids Camp also seeks to encourage kids to have fun, learn, and grow in the safe and uplifting setting of a traditional summer camp. The Kids Camp will take place the last week of June and the last week of July (see flyer for exact dates and times), and the program costs $125/week for current Pa-Kua students and $150/week for newcomers. I put my 6-year old son in this camp last year and he loved it, I’ve already registered him again this year! View the Pa-Kua Orange Summer Camp flyer HERE. I hope you take advantage of these wonderful and character-building Summer Camp programs. I’m sure they will be an experience your kids will love!
