This is on more of a personal note, but I wanted to share with you that last Friday night, my son took his first Belt Test at our local PaKua Studio in the Plaza. I was unable to be there and my sister-in-law took these pics for me (thanks BJ). I’m sharing them because, as a mom, I feel so proud looking at my 6-year old boy be so proud of himself for passing his first belt test and becoming a Yellow Belt. If you have little ones (or even older ones, or even yourself!) that are looking for a structured sport, to have fun and to really learn something that’s much more than just physical, you might check out PaKua. Who Couldn’t Use a Little PaKua in their Life?

If you’ve driven through the traffic circle in Old Towne Orange, then you’ve no doubt seen the PaKua studio located on the corner where Plaza Square meets W Chapman. Since 2009, this location has provided the Plaza with a little extra energy, what with all the Martial Arts, Yoga, Acrobatics, Tai-Chi and more happening behind their big glass picture window.

Ohhhh the ‘Do,’ it’s so important to many of us female types, but plenty of you dudes out there enjoy a good-looking hair style as well. So, in the name of ‘keeping it local,’ you may want to check out Salon réBelle which is located right here in OTO. I went over to meet with two of the owners Vicky Garza and Ron Love to learn a little bit about their Salon. Every time I post about them on Facebook, there are always a ton of great comments about the stylists there.
