Just when I was drying my eyes over Old Towne’s loss of Frog’s Breathe, and one of my favorite pastimes – wine tasting – I have a reason to smile again. That reason is the soon-to-be Tasting Room which will be located within The Bruery Provisions, opening (hopefully) this August before the Orange International Street Fair.
I hooked up with Owner Patrick Rue, his lovely wife Rachel and Manager Stef Ferrari to get the inside scoop. Here’s what I learned.

As I was interviewing Mary Beth Wright, owner of Orange Candy Company, I was facing a wall of candylicious memories. It’s amazing, really amazing, how those feelings from childhood are just right there below the surface. For me as a young child, that extra sweet Sugar Daddy was just the bomb. But then there were the Abba Zabba’s, which shot me forward a few years in time…so many memories through these iconic treats. Lucky for us (not so much for our dentist’s or our waistbands) Orange Candy Company is promising to be the place where we will find these sweet memories and feel like a kid again.

I love a good cause, but when there’s wine tasting involved, then I’m a real believer. This sounds like a great event that I wanted to share with you because it’s for a local cause, and it truly is a good one. Better yet, it’s at Opus Italian Restaurant and as I said, there’ll be wine tasting…
The 6th Annual Evening D’Vine Fundraiser is an event to raise funds for the Friendly Center, a dynamic resource center in Orange dedicated to improving the lives of families in need through immediate aid and a variety of educational and life skill programs.
